OTC GreenLight Becomes the First and Only DNV-Qualified Digital Pressure Testing System

Offshore Technical Compliance
Tuesday, December 2, 2025

As Offshore Technical Compliance (OTC) continues to expand their footprint in the digital pressure testing field of the Oil and Gas industry, their new and improved GreenLight has achieved a major milestone and sets a new standard for digital pressure testing of well control systems.

OTC is proud to announce GreenLight has been awarded a DNV-RP-A203 technology qualification, making it the only digital pressure testing (DPT) system with this worldwide quality guarantee. This qualification provides our clients with confidence in the accuracy, reliability and innovation of our pressure testing software, now verified by DNV’s thorough assessment process. We chose to proceed with DNV for independent third-party assessment of GreenLight and the extremely rigorous technology qualification process in March 2022.

The DNV-RP-A203 technology qualification process included describing the technology and identifying all non-novel and novel aspects. The digital pressure testing technology enables us to predict the future behavior of the pressure curve. This capability is extremely novel, and was therefore one of the main areas of focus. Real and simulated field data were shared, and the software was witnessed by DNV working in the field.

OTC provided a significant amount of evidence to demonstrate that the various risks associated with all novel aspects were fully understood, managed, and mitigated. Following assessment of this data, and a series of individual interviews with all those involved, DNV was ultimately satisfied that the software’s operation, deployment, and maintenance was thoroughly understood by all involved and OTC had established a homogenous way of operating.

The end result of this extremely rigorous process is that OTC is now the only compliance company with the worldwide, quality guarantee of a DNV technology qualification, which provides our clients with the assurance that the system delivers reliable results verified by the respected scientists and researchers at DNV.

In addition to this major achievement, OTC has also made a firm commitment to continue their research and development by entering into an agreement with global rig and well control equipment solutions specialists ModuSpec, to deliver a streamlined approach to well control assurance.

Together, OTC GreenLight and ModuSpec offer a cohesive, simplified solution for well control assurance. Operators benefit from integrated data intelligence, streamlined workflows and reduced non-productive time without the complexity of managing multiple vendors. The collaboration is set to deliver smarter, more integrated solutions that enhance safety and drive efficiency, reliability and regulatory compliance across global offshore operations.

Offshore Technical Compliance (OTC) is a proven leader in providing digital technology solutions for the global oil and gas industry. OTC is a pioneer in the development and commercial implementation of predictive digital pressure testing.
