Woodside Begins Greater Enfield Project

Australian energy giant Woodside has announced in a press release that it will produce first oil from its Greater Enfield project located offshore Australia this month.

"We expect first oil from the Greater Enfield reservoirs in August 2019. The delivery of the Greater Enfield Project, on schedule and under budgeted cost, is a further demonstration of our capacity to execute our growth plans, Woodside CEO Peter Coleman said.

The Ngujima-Yin floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) facility being offline for refurbishment in Singapore ahead of its restart at Greater Enfield, the company said.

The company has informed that drilling campaign is ahead of schedule and 11 of the 12 development wells completed. It expects oil production of ~40,000 barrels per day (100% basis).

Located 60 km off Exmouth in Western Australia within Commonwealth waters, the Greater Enfield project will develop the Laverda Canyon, Norton over Laverda (WA-59-L), and Cimatti (WA-28-L) oil accumulations.
