Leadership Changes at Equinor

Equinor said it will make changes to the leadership of two corporate staff areas.

Siv Helen Rygh Torstensen, head of the CEO office, will take over as General Counsel, succeeding Hans Henrik Klouman, who will take on a role as Senior Advisor to the EVP CFO from August 1.

Ana Fonseca Nordang, VP PL Executive and leadership development, will take over the position as SVP People & Leadership, succeeding Magne Hovden, who will join MMP MT and take the position as VP and Singapore Country Manager from September 1.

“With these changes we bring new members with strong leadership experience, international experience and functional and operational background into the corporate leadership team. I look forward to welcoming Siv Helen and Ana to the team in their new roles,” said Equinor CEO Eldar Sætre.

The General Counsel and SVP People & Leadership will continue to report to the CEO and participate in the CEC’s work and meetings.

In his new advisory capacity, Klouman will work with further professionalization of Equinor’s investment activities and active ownership strategies, including within the group’s venture activities and capital management, and continue as chairman of the Equinor Pension Fund. 

As country manager for Singapore, Hovden will hold responsibility for Equinor’s trading activities in South East Asia.

Rygh Torstensen joined Equinor in 1998 and has held the position of Head of CEO office since July 2016. Prior to this, Rygh Torstensen was Vice President Corporate in LEG since 2011. From 1998 to 2011 Rygh Torstensen held various positions within LEG, including as Corporate Compliance Office and Acting General Counsel.

Nordang joined Equinor in 2009 and has seved as Vice President, PL Executive and leadership development since August 2017. Prior to this, she served in several leadership positions in Houston between 2013-2017, including as head of People and Leadership for DPUSA and as Lead for the improvement program for US Onshore Back Office. Prior to joining Equinor, Nordang held various leadership roles in business consulting in Washington DC and London and in oil and gas in Stavanger.
