Construction support vessel (CSV) Southern Ocean, which is jointly owned by Bourbon and Oceanteam, has been hired to support Fugro off the coast of Australia.

"Bourbon - Oceanteam’s CSV Southern Ocean has entered into a contract with Fugro and will undertake a program of IRM work offshore in Australia," said a statement.

The Southern Ocean is currently conducting subsea work in India for J. Ray McDermott. Directly after completion of the current job in May, the vessel will mobilise for her next assignment.

Mathieu Feisthauer, Fleet and Chartering Manager of Oceanteam, said: “We are pleased to have secured this contract and are glad with the repeated trust Fugro has put in our vessel and in our company.”

Keesjan Cordia, Chairman of the Board of Oceanteam, added: “We are well on our way to create a firm basis to grow the company on both the Shipping and Solutions part of the group. This contract award by Fugro re-affirms the appreciation of the capabilities of the Southern Ocean as a premium IRM vessel. We look forward to continue and deepen our relationship with all our long-term clients in the future.”
