The solutions provider of the offshore renewable industry, Green Marine has expanded its fleet by recently purchasing a Damen Twin Axe 26m long CTV named the “Green Storm”.

The vessel will focus on servicing the Offshore Wind industry, providing safe transportation of personnel and cargo to offshore installations, said a press release from marine renewables industry player.

The company has made this significant investment to meet the demands of their expanding client base in offshore wind.

The company has worked on several offshore wind farms including Beatrice, Moray East and West Wind Farms, Hywind, East Anglia 1 and Ormonde with their other vessels. The Offshore Wind industry is currently going through a phase of significant expansion, resulting in increased demand for Green Marine’s services.

Green Marine is currently implementing its safety management and maintenance systems on the Green Storm, and the experienced masters and crew are carrying out drills and vessel familiarisation.

Green Marine is a multi award winning company in the offshore renewable industry. The company is accredited for ISO standards 9001:2015 Quality Management, 14001:2015 Environmental Management and OHSAS 18001:2007 Health and Safety Management. This was achieved due to the commitment and can do attitude of the highly skilled team at Green Marine.

This week Green Marine became Orkneys first Company to pass the first stage audit for Fit 4 Offshore Renewables. F4OR has been developed by the Nuclear AMRC and the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult. The F4OR programme is to ensure that the company’s operations meets the standards expected by project developers and operators and their supply chain partners in key areas of business and performance.

Green Marine has recently invested in new larger office premises to house its expanding number of shore based employees, which includes an in-house Engineering department of Naval Architects, Structural Engineers and Draughtsmen. The property is due to be renovated shortly with assistance from HIE.

Jason Schofield, Managing Director, said: “The significant investment our company has made in the purchase of another vessel and new office premises is testament to the confidence we have in the future of the offshore renewable industry. We are continually rising to the high standards and demands of this industry, and that is a credit to our valuable and dedicated workforce”.
