Tractebel Acquires Deutsche Offshore Consult

Belgium-based Tractebel Engie has, through its subsidiary Lahmeyer International, acquired Deutsche Offshore Consult GmbH (DOC) to strengthen its position in the offshore wind sector.

German outfit DOC has staff covering all aspects of the offshore wind development process, including engineers, geographers and logistics experts, Tractebel said.

Just a few weeks ago Tractebel has successful takenover Overdick, pointed out a press release from the company.

DOC has been involved in numerous German offshore wind projects over the past few years. References include projects in the North Sea and Baltic Sealike Butendiek, Amrumbank, Trianel Borkum West and Borkum West II, Riffgat, Global Tech I, Baltic I, Baltic II, alpha ventus, BARD Offshore I, Nordergründe, MEG1/MERKUR, Sandbank 24, Hohe See, Albatros and Wikinger, along with the offshore substations DolWin3, HelWin1, BorWin2 and Nordergründe.

Internationally DOC has worked on the Neart na Gaoithe (UK), Humber Gateway (UK), Gemini (NL), Cape Wind (USA), Fécamp (F), Curseulles-sur-Mer (F) and Saint Nazaire (F) projects.

 Olivier Biancarelli, CEO of Tractebel, said: "DOC is the second acquisition made by Tractebel in the offshore segment within just a few weeks. This demonstrates that we are rigorously pursuing our growth strategy to become the leader in offshore wind engineering and a global player in the energy transition.”

Tractebel is a leading engineering and consulting company for energy, water and infrastructure, with a turnover of € 675 million and presence in Europe, Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. With the DOC takeover, Tractebel gains a high degree of implementation expertise for challenging offshore wind projects.

The signature of the share purchase agreement for the acquisition was celebrated on Wednesday the 5th of December. The closing of the transaction will take place at the end of this year following customary closing conditions and regular approvals.
