May 11, 2017

Blue Water Shipping and Manchester Shipping have been awarded a contract in support of the Tengizchevroil (TCO) Future Growth Project-Wellhead Pressure Management Project (FGP-WPMP).

The consortium has been hired for the international transport of modular cargo from the Black Sea and the Baltic Sea via the Russian inland waterway system to Prorva in Kazakhstan.

It will involve the use of up to 11 barges and 29 tugs. These vessels will be upgraded and modified where required to meet the specific transport requirements of the cargo movements, Blue Water said.

The consortium will work in close cooperation with Russian tug and barge operators for the provision of the vessels’ crews and services within the Russian inland waterways.

TCO is a Kazakhstani partnership that explores, develops, produces and markets crude oil, liquefied petroleum gas, dry gas and sulfur.

It includes Chevron (50%), KazMunayGas (20%), ExxonMobil (25%) and Lukarco (5%).
