September 23, 2014

Singapore’s Cosco Shipyard secured US$230 million contracts to build a floating accommodation unit (FAU) and a module carrier.

Cosco will build the FAU for an unnamed Singaporean company with an expected delivery in 1Q 2017. In addition, the buyer has also secured options for five additional FAUs.

The shipyard will also build a 21,000DWT module carrier for an unnamed European company and will be delivered in 2Q 2016.

In July, Cosco delivered the Kai Xuan Yi Hao jackup to an Asian buyer. The jackup measured 66.71m in length and 67.06m wide and can operate in water depths of nearly 122m.
