Expro secures Burner Boom contracts

October 7, 2013

Expro, has secured a series of contracts in Asia with Keppel FELS, a global leader in the design, construction and repair of mobile offshore drilling rigs.

The contracts, worth almost US$20 million, will see Expro provide multiple Burner Booms for deployment in Brazil, Kazakhstan, and Mexico. This includes sets of 100ft booms to be installed on semisubmersible and jackup newbuild rigs.

Expro’s Burner Boom product line offers high-performance, offshore crude oil “clean burner technology.” The Sea Emerald (SE) Burner and Super Green (SG) Burner achieve some of the highest clean burn testing results, over a wide range of viscosities that have been independently tested and documented. An independent environmental laboratory test recently found that the SE Burner operates at 99.993% efficiency under a wide range of conditions.

John Loafman, director of Equipment Sales (EQS) at Expro, comments: “These contracts will allow Expro to strengthen and develop our existing relationship with Keppel FELS. The contracts also represent a solid footing for future growth in Asia – a major regional market for Expro.”

The contracts are due to start later this month, with the last project set to be delivered in 2017.
