Malaysian construction JV

Swiber Holdings and Alam Maritim Resources, a Malaysian offshore marine transportation services provider, have signed an agreement to incorporate two 50:50 joint venture companies, Alam Swiber DLB 1 (L) and Alam Swiber Offshore (M), to tap offshore construction opportunities in Malaysia, for which Alam Swiber DLB 1 (L) has entered into a Memorandum of Agreement to acquire a derrick lay barge.

Swiber owns and operates 34 offshore support and seven construction vessels, and aims to increase its fleet to 51 by 2011.
