Dragon Oil has awarded contracts for two new eight-conductor platforms in its Cheleken contract area offshore Turkmenistan in the southeastern Caspian Sea.

Caspian Energy Projects will construct the Dzhygalybeg (Zhdanov) A platform, with installation in the Zhdanov field scheduled for completion in 1Q 2012, while LK Insaat Taah, San Ve.tic will build the Dzheitune (Lam) C platform, to be placed in the Lam field in 4Q 2011.

The two production platforms represent a substantial part of the $600-700 million Dragon Oil expects to spend on infrastructure projects in the 2010-2012 planning period.
